Musings of an Awakening Spirit

Stories, poetry & general musings of Rebecca Haywood, a modern-day Shaman with a penchant for bringing the divine into the human experience.

Shameless Beauty

Bloom early
Tufted rainbow hues of you
Shamelessly scented
With life
For life
Attracting more life
Eating more light
Unwieldy beauty
Unyielding beauty
For they dare not pluck
They dare not f*ck
How can they?
Take what is not theirs?
Shake what is not loose?
These petals command the wind
And rise the tides
No time to stop
This bloom made the sun

Let’s stop hiding, shall we? Let’s stop trading down to their world.

Dulling our beauty, dumbing our power, numbing our love and succumbing.

To what? For what? Their comfort? Their sense of self? Their mirror, cracked long before you arrived?

They won’t be soothed by your softness; affirmed, fulfilled or filled by this emptying out that you do, or this constancy that you hold yourself to.

Be wild. Be bountiful. Be you. Every color of you. Bloom early. Late. Often. Always and again.

They may not stop to smell your bloom, or even see you. But if they do? They will have no choice but to be filled.

Your saturation is what suffuses, your abundance is what bears, your shameless scent of love inhabits their very air.

And the sun that you make is what teaches them to shine.
